1. About these terms

These terms apply to your use of mifos-x-open-banking-relay.pages.dev, which the Mifos Initiative, a Washington State non-profit corporation, runs as part of Mifos X Open Banking. By using the site you agree to them. How we handle data is explained in the privacy policy.

2. What this site does

The site passes your bank's authorisation response back to the Mifos X Open Banking app on your device, and it does nothing else. It is free to use.

The Mifos Initiative is not a bank or a payment service, and this site isn't either. It doesn't hold money, accounts or credentials, it can't start or approve a payment, and it gives no financial advice. Every approval happens at your bank, under your bank's own terms.

3. Testing only

Mifos X Open Banking is a reference app. It currently connects only to the HSBC UK Open Banking sandbox, a test environment that uses test accounts and no real money. Don't rely on the site or the app for real banking.

4. Using the site

Please don't:

• register this site's address as the redirect URL for your own app or for a copy of this project. A fork must deploy its own copy of relay/site/ and register its own address.
• embed the site in another page, or present it as your own service
• try to disrupt, overload or break into the site or the systems that host it
• use the site in a way that breaks the law or Cloudflare's terms

Security research done in good faith is welcome. Follow the security policy and report what you find to security-disclosure@mifos.org.

5. Open-source licence and the Mifos name

The site's source code is published under the Mozilla Public License 2.0. That licence governs how you may use, change and share the code. These terms govern only this hosted copy.

Mifos and the Mifos logo are trademarks of the Mifos Initiative, and the licence doesn't grant any right to use them. If you run your own copy, give it your own name and branding so that nobody mistakes it for this one.

6. Availability

We aim to keep the site running, but it may be unavailable at times, and we may change it, move it or shut it down. If the page doesn't load after you approve at your bank, start the request again from the app.

7. No warranty

The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty, whether express or implied. This includes any warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, the Mifos Initiative and the project's contributors aren't liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or your inability to use it. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that can't legally be limited.

9. Third parties

Your bank and Cloudflare, which hosts the site, provide their own services under their own terms. We aren't responsible for them. Mifos X Open Banking isn't affiliated with HSBC or any other bank.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page, and every past version stays in the public change history. For questions, email info@mifos.org.
